Retail Reimagined

Once a fruit orchard, Civic Square was built as a shopping center in the late 1960s with Safeway as the anchor tenant. Michaels occupied the space under the arch from the mid-1980s through 2018. Today, with the rise of online retailing and the decline of big box stores, this generous space is being redeveloped into several small restaurants and retail shops facing El Camino Real, with a new self-storage facility entering from Hollenbeck Ave.

Up to 6 new storefronts under the arch will face El Camino RealĀ

The space is ready for up to 6 retail and restaurant shops under the arch.
